New Viznet Broadband Service and Portfolio to Be Launched at Satellite MENA

Next generation JanUX/SCPC headlines new Vizada Networks portfolio upgrade

Oslo, Norway, 2nd February, 2011 – Independent satellite communication and telecommunication specialist Vizada Networks will unveil its next generation DVB-S2/ACM based platform during the Satellite MENA exhibition in Dubai, 8th – 10th February 2011.
Viznet Broadband, a standardised, high-quality service providing high-speed connectivity with dedicated bandwidth and guaranteed CIR, will be unveiled in parallel with the new Viznet brand and portfolio, which also includes:

 Viznet Dynamic – Sophisticated but standardised service package based on the iDirect Evolution platform (previously Internet Start)

 Viznet Custom – Custom made solutions, which may be combinations of all Vizada Networks platforms but predominantly SCPC

 Viznet Solutions – A family of value added solutions including business applications, communications, network, and support services.

As a high-technology replacement for Vizada Networks’ current generation JanUX offering (Taide Broadband), Viznet Broadband is designed as a cost-effective solution where permanent dedicated capacity is required. It is partially built upon Vizada Networks’ next generation JanUX Mark II solution and is differentiated by the integration of proprietary, industry leading bandwidth management, ACM and centralised remote monitoring and control that offers added value in terms of costs, quality and availability.

The sophisticated new bandwidth management integral to Viznet Broadband uses a hierarchical tree structure where the amount of available bandwidth can be shared between sites and guaranteed at any node within the tree, to provide QoS guarantees and full utilisation throughout the network. ACM takes into account variable conditions at every remote site, which ensures a positive user experience regardless of environmental conditions, whilst Centralised Remote Management and Control – a new feature for this platform class – enables efficient management of the installed terminal base and empowers Vizada Networks to maintain the system without demanding high satcoms knowledge from the customer.

Viznet Broadband offers standardised service coverage all over Africa and the Middle East, using industry standard Newtec Satellite IP receivers and optional antenna sizes down to 1.8m for C-band in Africa and 1.2m for Ku-band in ME (subject to availability per satellite beam). It has been designed to offer true flexibility, with straightforward implementation and upgrading, supported by easy service changes.

In addition to scalability and inherent high quality/speed downlink, Viznet Broadband uses SCPC for transmission to ensure unmatched overall performance. The service is ultimately designed to optimise the efficiency and performance of IP applications over satellite, enabling first-class end user experience and reliable, cost-effective communication enabling work across sites.

With the new Viznet family of services, Vizada Networks now completes the growing demand for quality services across all segments in Africa and the Middle East. By standardising on base services with a range of value adds, the service proposition can easily be fitted to any need, securing a high level of customer satisfaction.

“We are delighted to be launching Viznet Broadband at Satellite MENA as an integral part of the new Viznet services portfolio from Vizada Networks,” comments Thomas Iversen, Head of Product Development at Vizada Networks. “In addition to the intensive technology development we have been engaged to ensure that Viznet Broadband utilises our new evolution of the proven JanUX platform. We have been working hard to ensure our service offering is transparent and easy to understand. We believe the introduction of Viznet as the name and foundation of our portfolio will help us to achieve this and are looking forward to feedback during the show.”
